Meet Coach Vince.
I started competing in Ironman in 2006 when I completed my first 70.3. It took everything I had to get through that race and my goal was to just finish. Over the years, my goal changed from "just finish", to 7 hours, now to 6 hours. I attempted and DNF'd my first two full Ironmans in 2011 (St. George) and 2012 (Coeur d'Alene).
After those experiences, I lost 30 lbs, focused on my training and completed my next 12 consecutive fulls making sure to complete Coeur d' Alene twice (2013 and 2020), and the World Championship in St. George in 2022. I've really focused on my training and my nutrition over the last three years. As a consequence, my last three fulls have been my fastest (which include 12:34:11 in Cozumel 2021, 14:43:36 in St. George 2022, and 13:36:20 in California 2022). So I've been through the wringer with this sport, but I love it.
This year, I'll be taking on my 31st 70.3 and my 13th 140.6 at the World Championship in Nice, France. I've learned a lot over the years, but especially the last three, and I'd like to share my knowledge with you.
